Sue is in training for the Queen City Marathon, in Regina on September 12th. and today was her last long run. We headed into Calgary and didn't park at the Shouldice Pool parking lot. There had been a huge storm over night but by the morning it had cleared. We started off with the temp at a very pleasent 10C and made our way along the Bow River. Coffee and a pumpkin muffin was followed by a 12km out and back to Eau Claire Market. The final 10km was completed under clear skies and the 34km run was finished in a very respectable 4hr 18min 18sec. I must admit I felt good today and was finally able to do a decent run / walk. I finished up my marathon in Cochrane with no bear sightings. However........

Avatar Marathon Martin has recently spent some time in Chicago on his virtual trip around North America. He is a huge American Football fan and his team is the Chicago Bears. His favourite player is Jim McMahon and he watched all of his 21 straight victories as a starter in the 1984 to 1987 seasons. Avatar Marathon Martin was lucky because, when he visited Soldier Field, he was asked if he would play on a special team as a short receiver. He said yes and because of his size he was able to nip between the legs of the defensive line and score a touch down. Is there no limit's to this man's talent?

A. Shall we walk or take the dog?

Quote of the Day

"Everybody and their mother knows you don't train hard on Friday, the day before a race. But a lot of runners will overtrain on Thursday if left on their own. Thursday is the most dangerous day of the week."
