A busy weekend ahead and it's all tied in with the Health and Fitness Expo to be held in Calgary on Sunday. Organizers Sue and Misty had suggested I run a marathon on the Saturday at the Silverado Community in South Calgary. They would try and get some sponsors and hopefully we could get a few folks out to run. Saturday morning Sue and I headed out, via Bragg creek and the 22X highway. It was a beautiful day and should finally be rain free. At the community enrance we spotted the lake and parked by the grass verge. I completed a couple of test loops, 800m long, excellent, 52 loops and I'm done.

Around 8.45am Sue, Misty and Elaine (Impact magazine) joined Sue and I. A little later FitGuy Pete joined us and our little band went round and around. We met a few people on the loop during the day and we smiled and waved. A young lad Eathan joined us and showed us how it was done. He is three years old but has tremendous form. His arm pumping was excellent and he knocked off two loops with out any trouble. Our youngest runner, 16 month old Kirkland, did a great job. At 1.00pm a Tri-Yoga class began and a group of around 10 started doing bendy stuff. FitGuy Pete does a lot of fitness stuff and writes for the Calgary Heald amoung others. We had a good chat about the physical and mental approach needed for the Marathon Quest 250.

The marathon was sponsored by Apex Oil ($1,250), United Communities ($1,250) and marathon runners ($530). So, over $3,000 was raised for Right To Play. Fantastic!!!!!!
