This morning I was greeted with a skiff of snow on the ground and the lowest temp I've had for a walking marathon. I've learnt that, to figure out what to wear for walking, just take the temp and double it. At -30C I'd put on two pairs of running tights, five layers on top and a mask. So for walking at -15C that's what I put on. My plan today was to walk the West Point loop for 2 x 2 hour stints, then head into Cochrane to finish off the marathon. I covered 24km in 4hours and felt pretty good. After a light lunch I made my way along the Bow River as far as the path would take me, which is the Spray Lake sports complex. The day warmed up a bit but I thought I'd treat myself and go to Tim Hortons.By the time I'd got there I'd completed 38km and the coffee and donut went down a treat.

I've received a number of questions about the special effects I use on some of my photos. Sam Sung asks " I think the effects you've created with The Martins and Avatar MM are amazing. Did you get help from James Cameron, Peter Jackson or Tim Burton?" Surprisingly, No. The effects I've developed have never been used in film before. They are a combination of Super Lamination / Real 3D and you feel like you're in the picture. It may shock you to learn that a computer was not used in the development of these effects. In the coming months I plan to fine tune these techniques and add the holy grail of special effects, smell-a-rama.
