Halloween went by without incident. We had a bunch of Super Mario's, Witches, Star Wars characters and Panda bears (big favourite). Todays, run went well. Hard to believe it's November 1st and I was running in shorts and a singlet.

There were a number of magazine and newspaper articles on the #200 marathon. One piece that caught my eye was on CBCnews.com. They talked about the quest and described what Right To Play does. Below the article was an opportuninty to make comments and here are a few of them:

  • Very inspiring, just goes to show that there are good people out there that are willing to "go the extra mile" for kids.
  • Wow....that's 5000 miles isn't it? or equivent to running coast to coast.
  • 15 minutes of fame takes an awful lot of running these days to achieve.
  • This guy will die before he finishes #250 marathon. What a waste.
  • Watch him have a heart attack at some point, studies have proven that marathoners wear out their hearts.
  • Marathons are extremely hard on the body, especially the knees, unless he's using some kind of special shoes and knee braces, he must have a body that the military would drool over to study.
  • I know with multi-marathon runners, they all say the trick is to keep eating, some friends I now wear 2 belts, one for water bottles the other just carries potatoes, the starch apparently keeps them going.

I have to give the potato belt a try.

Ice Cream Quest 47

The challenge is to try all 47 flavours at Mackay's ice cream store before midnight December 31st.

Today's flavour #45: Banana Nut

Quote of the Day

Comment about CBC article on marathon #200

Should this man be studied by the Military?
