Another beautiful, October day. Will it ever end? Oh yes, but not just yet. Today, I drove 4 minutes down the road to Glenbow School and met Principal Deb. Glenbow has 400 students from Kindergarten to Grade 4 and I met them all at the 8.15am Assembly. I started on my 600m loop and, during the day, classes of students came out and joined me for a loop or two. At the end of the sports field was the school garden and it was time to harvest the carrots. One of the grade 2ers picked a bunch and we enjoyed fresh carrots right out of the ground, dirt and all.

Lunch came and went. In the afternoon the kids just kept coming out. I heard a number of good quotes. A grade 1er stated that "His Dad was old, just like you!" another said that his family was staying with another family and they had twins, "one was 6, the other 7!". As I approached the 40km mark I heard my name called by a group up on a grassy knoll. I went up there and met a teacher and  some students. They told me they had planted 4 trees. They had named them Terry, Martin, RTP and Imp. Very cool.

Q. What do you give an elephant that's going to be sick?
A. Plenty of space!

Quote of the Day

"Unfortunately, saving the planet ranks nineteenth on the list of most pressing needs for most Americans, well behind things such as resolving the Mid-East conflict, figthting world hunger, and providing healthcare. Unfortunately, none of the 18 'more important' items on the list can be done without saving the planet first."
