Alberta weather: Sun: Part 1: Last Thursday, I headed into Calgary to run with Don and Jeremy. These guys have been huge supporters of Marathon Quest 250 and have been helping me prepare for the Comrades marathon in May. Our route took us pass the "Peace" bridge. Things are coming along swimmingly with this artistic masterpiece. It was originally planned to be completed in the fall of 2010. Then it was delayed to the spring of 2011. The latest is that it will definately be completed in the spring of 2012. Stay tuned. At the end of the 10km session, along the pathways, Jeremy gave me cheques for Right To Play totaling $1,240. So far his "Run Fatboy Run" campaign has raised over $3,000 for the kids. Many thanks. When I got home I realised that I had a sun burn. It was a bit painful but it was great to think that spring had finally  arrived.

Alberta weather: Snow: Part 2: On Saturday morning, Sue and I had planned to travel to High River and run the 25km "Friendship" run. Friday night, huge snow clouds rolled over and by 7.00am on Saturday we were under 8 inches of snow. Road reports stated "Conditions terrible. Stay home". I decided to run 10km with runner Wayne and it was brutal. The snow was wet and sticky and after running an hour in the slop it was time to head home. I did get a good 4 hr workout shoveling the driveway. My average heartrate was 123 beats per minute with a maxium of 159 bpm.

The office is one of my favourite shows and Michael Scott's movie "Death Treat Midnight" was brilliant. The interplay of action, drama, comedy and hockey was priceless. It'll be a sad day when Steve Corell leaves. Rumours have it that possibly Will Farrell or Ricky Gervais will be the new boss. My money's on Jack Black.

Dr Randolph Randolph's book of animal jokes (Bees)

Q: What do you get if you cross a bee with a skunk?
A: An animal that stinks and stings!
